About

Hi, I am Celestine Chua and I'm the writer behind this blog. You can call me Celes if you prefer.
Here, I will be sharing with you a brief story of my life and how I came to do what I'm doing today.
Growing Up
Has anyone ever told you that you need to earn money and be successful? That was basically what I was repeatedly told when I was young. I grew up inculcated with imposed purposes by others around me, such as earning a lot of money, acquiring material possessions and being extremely successful. I came to believe that the pursuit of these goals would lead to increased happiness in life.
As a very driven person, I made those the core goals of my life. I oriented my energy, focused myself and pursued them single-mindedly. For a large part of my younger years, those were what life represented to me.
Along the way, I experienced positive results. In Jul 2006, I graduated from university as the top marketing student, on the dean’s lists, honored with accolades for being most outstanding business student. 1 year before I graduated, I had already secured a placement in the most prestigious Fortune 100 company for brand management, also touted as every marketer's dream job. As a Marketing major, it was my dream job.
To many, a bright future seemed set in stone. However, was it really?
Realization
During the period before I graduated and started working, I began to really introspect about my future. I dug deep into my goals and measured them up against the larger context of life and death.
As I did that, I began to realize for myself the happiness acquired via these goals would never last - simply because they were impermanent in life. Money, material goods, recognition, fame, success - as drawing as these things were made out to be, these were just extrinsic items that would dissipate over time. They were ultimately means to an end, but not ends in themselves.
Suddenly, imposed purposes I had revolved my life around just crumbled into little flakes and dissolved into nothingness. It was at this point where I realized, to my horror, that all these things I had achieved and all these things I was striving for were meaningless. I suddenly felt I was missing a bigger context of life.
So if all these things I had been pursuing were not the meaning of life, what exactly was the meaning of life then?
Discovering My Real Purpose
Eventually, through an in-depth process of outward exploration and introspection, I eventually discovered my real purpose - to achieve my highest potential and help others do the same.
You can read the full story on how I came to my realization here (Part-4 of my Discover Your Real Purpose 7-Part series). Every day, nothing energizes, motivates me and charges me more than being able to live in accordance with my purpose.
This is my life purpose, in its entirety:
1) To unite the world as one single consciousness: To touch others' lives, enable them to achieve personal excellence and live their best life.
2) To reach my highest level of consciousness: To achieve personal excellence and live my best life; To live consciously and freely in truth, love and power.
Embracing My Real Purpose and My Life
After graduating in Jul 2006, I decided to work first to grow further as an individual, before moving to help others. In Oct 2008, after working for 2+ years, I decided it was time - I made the call and left a high paying, promising brand management career which I love, for something which I love even more - my passion to help others live their best life. Between my passion or money, the decision was stark clear – Passion triumphs over everything at any time of the day. ![]()
